Cake has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. My Mom was a cake decorator when I was younger and I discovered a few years ago that I had inerited her talent for it as well. I have not been satisfied with my jobs for a while now so I thought why not do something I love. Helping people celebrate the big moments of their lives. I can do cakes for all occasions. Let me be a part of your next celebration. Official website is secondgenerationcakedesign.com

Tropical Bridal Shower Cupcakes

My sister asked me to make some cupcakes for a friend of her's bridal shower. She is getting married down south so they threw her a tropical themed bridal shower. I made pina coloda cupcakes and topped them with some bright flowers. They were a hit!

Cocktail Cupcakes

Strawberry Margarita Cupcakes. My cousin Lauryn asked for these for her birthday party last weekend. She had tagged me in a pinterest pin as a hint months before. Strawberry lime cupcake with a strawberry lime buttercream. They turned out pretty tasty.

Pina Coloda Cupcakes. These were also for Lauryn's birthday. It is a coconut pineapple cake with coconut buttercream and I topped it with a pineapple flower. I had seen these flowers on pinterest and knew they would be perfect for these cupcakes. When I went to the site to see how they were made it was in chinese and even after translating it didn't really tell you how it was done. Luckily I know a little bit about food and cooking that I was able to figure it out. I didn't think they would taste all that good but my aunt loved them. Really they are just dried pineapples but really pretty.

Irish Mint Cocktail Cupcake

I was watching Top Chef Just Desserts this afternoon and they were making desserts inspired by cocktails and I was in turn inspired to run into my kitchen and bake up a cocktail cupcake. I had a big bottle of bailey's sitting on my counter that led me to the Irish mint cocktail. I created a chocolate mint infused bailey's cupcake with a chocolate bailey's buttercream frosting. I also took this as an opportunity to finally use the cupcake stand I bought at a little gourmet food store in Picton while I was on vacation 2 weeks ago. I think it was just too cute to pass up.
