Cake has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. My Mom was a cake decorator when I was younger and I discovered a few years ago that I had inerited her talent for it as well. I have not been satisfied with my jobs for a while now so I thought why not do something I love. Helping people celebrate the big moments of their lives. I can do cakes for all occasions. Let me be a part of your next celebration. Official website is secondgenerationcakedesign.com

Cookie Monster 1st Birthday Cake & Smash Cake

I have also been waiting my whole cake career to do a Cookie Monster cake as well. This is one of my favorite characters from my childhood and you can't help but smile when you see him. I kept opening the fridge to take a look every time I walked by because he was just so cute!To go with this perfect 1st birthday cake was a Cookie Monster smash cake. There was just too much cuteness with these cakes!

Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake & Smash Cake

This cake was created for a little girl's 1st birthday celebration. Minnie Mouse is adorable on a light pink cake surrounded by little white dots. I designed a matching smash cake for the birthday girl with Minnie's ears and iconic bow. Absolutely precious!

Supergirl 1st Birthday Cake and Smash Cake

This cake was for a very special Supergirl. Precious Avery had gone through heart surgery and I was honored to be able to make her a very special first birthday cake. The little super baby even has a scar on her chest.

Monkey 1st Birthday Cake

You can't go wrong with monkeys and Shane is a huge fan so this was the perfect cake for him. The flavor stayed with the theme...banana cake with chocolate hazelnut buttercream. Cute and tasty!

Horse Themed 1st Birthday Cake & Smash Cake

I designed this cake based on Phoenyx's horse. The horse has the brown spots along the back and grey main just like her actual horse. I loved creating this one because it was one of those cakes that just seemed to design itself. I wasn't sure where it was going until it was done but it turned out SO cute!

Superman 1st Birthday Cake

Morgan messaged me for a cake for her sons 1st birthday. She asked for Superman which I though was an odd but cute theme for a 1st birthday. I created this cake and matching smash cake for him. I had never received his name so I had a tag ready to write his name one with an edible marker same as the Happy Birthday ones. I did finally get his name the day of pick up and it all started to make sense. His name is Clark. Perfect 1st birthday cake for this little guy!

Giraffe 1st Birthday Cake & Smash Cake

This was an adorable cake that made me very happy to do. I was asked to make the main cake in the shape of a 1 and for it to look like a giraffe. Then they also wanted a smash cake to match. I cut a giraffe out of fondant and surrounded it with little dots and a "Happy Birthday" banner. First birthday cakes are always so much fun to make.

Monkey 1st Birthday Cake & Smash Cake

This is a fun and adorable 1st birthday cake. The cake is a sheet cake cut into the shape of a #1. The theme was monkeys so I added a monkey to both the cake and the matching smash cake. Banana bunches finish off this cute cake. I love this one!

Prize Horse 1st Birthday Cake

This is not my original design but when I was asked to do it for Reese's 1st birthday I was thrilled as it is a gorgeous and fun to make cake. I made the horse to resemble her horse. The barn board is painted on a strip of distressed fondant. It is really a beautiful cake!

Monkey 1st Birthday Cake & Smash Cake

This is a fun cake for a little boys first birthday. With fondant dots and monkey heads all over and a monkey holding a number one topping it off this cake is just too cute. I love the blues, yellows and browns together as a color scheme as well.

Fire Truck 1st Birthday Smash Cake & Cupcakes

These adorable cupcakes were not easy to make but so worth all the effort in the end. I don't have a fire truck or hydrant cutter so I had to make a template of each and hand cut them all. Such a cute theme for a little boys birthday party though.

This was my version of a very cute cake that Tristan's Mom sent me to do for her son. I love the cross between Halloween spook with cute 1st birthday.

Tobey's 1st Birthday Princess Party

These were some of the decorations for Tobey Jean's 1st birthday party. I saw this idea on pinterest for the canvases. Draw the design with glue and then paint over them. I decided to do butterflies and flowers and spray painted them in pink. They can later be used in her bedroom. We also put pictures of our precious girl all over the place. The centerpieces I designed for the tables are cups filled with sugar and then I painted twigs I found in my backyard white and hung wooden butterflies I got from the dollar store using clear wire. Jen (Tobey's Mom) made up giveaways for the kids ~ sippy cups filled with gold fish crackers  for the little ones and snack cups filled with M&M's for the bigger kids. She placed them in the buckets on the front table with balloons. We also set up a paint with water table and a playdough table to keep the kids entertained. I made the playdough using Kool-aid to color it. I found this recipe in a Kraft What's Cooking Magazine. It made really vivid colors and smelled so good. Your hands even smelled good a while after you were done playing with it. It was a fabulous day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We were so happy to be able to celebrate with so many family and friends.

Danika's 1st Birthday Cake

My Aunt ordered this cake for my cousin's 1st birthday. She wanted Danika to have her own special cupcake she could dig into just herself. The other cake is for the guests. Danika's is a chocolate cupcakes with strawberry buttercream and the cake is a chocolate, gluten free cake with vanilla buttercream. From what I hear she really got into it and had pink icing all over her face. I'm so glad she enjoyed herself.
