About Me

My photo
Kemptville, Ontario, Canada
Cake has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. My Mom was a cake decorator when I was younger and I discovered a few years ago that I had inerited her talent for it as well. I have not been satisfied with my jobs for a while now so I thought why not do something I love. Helping people celebrate the big moments of their lives. I can do cakes for all occasions. Let me be a part of your next celebration. Official website is secondgenerationcakedesign.com

Froggy Smash Cake with Cupcakes

These were just too adorable. They were created for a little girl who's nickname is "Toad" so they were very appropriate for her 1st birthday party. Since it was a kids party I was a little apprehensive to use toothpicks for the cattails as I usually do, so instead I used spaghetti noodles (uncooked of course). Still can't get over how cute these are!

Banana Smash Cake

This was the perfect smash cake for a little monkey! Not sure if the theme was because he is in fact a little monkey or he drives his parents bananas?! Probably a little of both!

Butterflies & Flowers Birthday Cake

I was asked to design a cake with pink flowers and purple butterflies. I wasn't sure exactly where to go with that until I started just punching out some flowers and butterflies and the cake started to design itself. It's a sweet cake for a sweet girl!

Monster's Inc Cupcakes

I've been waiting for my whole cake career to get an opportunity to do something Monster's Inc. This movie makes such cute treats! These adorable cupcakes were a hit with the birthday boy as well.

Rose Wedding Cake

I love the retro feel of this simple but beautiful wedding cake I did last spring. I kept the colors brighter as it was a spring wedding and not a fall one. I love making roses so this was a perfect cake for me.

Bridal Shower Cake

This was for a friends bridal shower. I decided to base the design on the invitation that was sent out for the shower. I had an idea of how it would look in my head but it wasn't coming together just as I had hoped. It turned out pretty still even though it was redesigned an hour before the party began as the original idea just wasn't working out.

Ballet Shoes Ice Cream Cake

This cake was for my cousin who loves to dance. She doesn't like cake so much though so I attempted an ice cream cake for her. This is not something I offer for sale yet but I love to try something new and my family is always willing to be my guinea pigs. Inside is two thin layers of vanilla sponge cake with homemade strawberry ice cream in between. I frosted it with cool whip because I knew it would take good and hold up well in the freezer. Topped it with a pair of ballet shoes to make it special for Chelsea!
