I was asked to give a quote for a very large (albeit fabulous) superhero cake. The cake was 3 tiered and way more cake than they needed for the party. I took the whole design and reduced it down to a one tier (I think) fabulous birthday cake. I sectioned it off in to 3 parts ~ Superman, Batman & Spiderman. I separated each section with a cape, mostly to hide the not so smooth transition between the colors. I modeled the Hulk hand out of rice crispy treats and covered in green fondant. I pressed the hand down into the cake, breaking the surface so that it would give the impression that it was coming out of the cake. They were very happy with the smaller cake.
Here I am starting to look like the Hulk myself. Really need to remember to buy gloves next time I am out.
