About Me

Cake has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. My Mom was a cake decorator when I was younger and I discovered a few years ago that I had inerited her talent for it as well. I have not been satisfied with my jobs for a while now so I thought why not do something I love. Helping people celebrate the big moments of their lives. I can do cakes for all occasions. Let me be a part of your next celebration. Official website is secondgenerationcakedesign.com

Butterfly and Flower Baptism Cake

This beautiful cake was created for Olivia's special day. It was based on a design by The Cake Works. White swirls accented by little pink flowers and butterflies. Topped with blocks spelling out God Bless Olivia. This is a precious cake.

Giraffe Dedication Cake

This cake was a very special cake for me. I created this adorable guy for my nephew Cooper's dedication in March. It was a cake that designed itself because there were a few changes made throughout the process. It turned out So cute though.

I think he liked it too. They did their pictures behind the cake and the whole time he was trying to get at it.

And he dug right in. Can't wait for his 1st birthday!

Snowflake Baptism Cake

I was asked to make a special cake for a little girls baptism. She wanted a cross and snowflakes on it and said I could run with the rest of the design. I love these kind of cakes because I love creative freedom. I started with the snowflakes and then MANY tiny white dots of fondant swirls to make them look as if they were falling on the cake. I then used my new letter punch to write "God Bless in fondant. Why I didn't use frosting to do all the dots? Well butter is not white (why manufacturers feel the need to put yellow coloring in butter still baffles me) and would give the dots a yellowish tinge that would take away from the crisp whiteness of the snowflakes and cross. I decided on the purple background color because I just love the look of snowflakes on purple. Was a little nervous about the purple but they loved it!

Baptism Cake

I designed this cake for a baptism. They wanted something simple but beautiful. Originally I had only 2 stacked circles between each cross but it looked like the crosses were flanked by snowman so I switched them around and did four instead. It looks much better. Look closely and you'll see that the cross has a circle pattern imprinted on it as well.

Cross Baptism Cake & Cupcakes

I made this cake and cupcakes for a young ladies baptism. It is such a important day in our lives when we decide to take this step of faith. I am happy that I could create this beautiful cake for this fantastic celebration. The design of the cake is from cutiepatootiecakes.com. I then created the cupcakes to match the cake.

Book Dedication Cake

I made this cake for the gathering after Church last Sunday to celebrate the babies that were dedicated during the service. It's silver because I had to keep it gender neutral but I think it is still beautiful.

Tobey's Dedication Cake

I made this cake for my nieces dedication yesterday. We chose to do this cake because it was so delicate, dainty and just plain pretty just like Tobey. It was a white velvet cake with strawberry cream cheese filling as well to keep with the white and pink feminine theme of the cake. It was a wonderful day of celebration with friends and family.

Cousins Baptism Cakes

Instead of making one cake for the two cousins who were getting baptized on the same day I made them two small cakes, one for each. They might have to share their day but they don't have to share their cakes.
