I know we are amping up to Christmas right now but as you see I am a bit behind in my blogging. This is the last of the Halloween cakes I did this year. This client calls me every Halloween and asks for a cake that will be too disgusting to eat. His only goal is to gross out his guests! This year he sent me this link http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-an-Evil-Clown-Cake/ and asked me to recreate this cake. I didn't do it exactly as the instructable says to as he did not need that much cake. I used the skull cake pan for the shape of the face and a 3 tiered 8" stacked and cut in half to form the hair (some was smushed in to fill in the spaces) and topped it with a 4" on a board for the rim of the hat. It was quite creepy having him stare at me from the back seat as I delivered a wedding cake on the way to bring him to his party. As much as this cake is gross it is a fabulous gross.

Pumpkins & Bats Halloween Cake
I created this cake for a cake auction for the North Grenville Spaghetti Fest with the proceeds going to the Local United Way. The cake is vanilla with orange buttercream. I had free reign to do whatever I wanted and since it was the weekend before Halloween I decided to go with a fun family friendly Halloween theme.

Graveyard Zombie Birthday Cake
I was asked to create a Zombie themed cake for a 14 year old's birthday party. Not the usual order I get for birthdays but it was fun to do something different than princesses and Disney. I made a couple zombies and body parts coming out of all the graves around this cake. Chocolate cookies crumbs make perfect dirt and don't hurt the taste at all!

Monkey Head Brain Cake
Every year I get an email from one of my favorite clients. His goal is to have a cake that completely grosses out his guests and they don't want to eat it. He sent me a link for this cake that luckily for me had a tutorial with it on exactly how to make the cake. http://www.instructables.com/id/Monkey-Brain-Cake/ He's actually pretty gross but knowing that he is full of chocolate cake and chocolate ganache I would still dive in!
Spooky Halloween Cupcakes
Spooky Halloween cupcakes I made for the Early Years Center's Halloween party. I was happy to be able to help make the kids party a sweet one!

Halloween Cake
I was asked to do a halloween cake by a client who wanted something gross and gruesome for their annual halloween party. This is what I came up with. It was a little hard to get in the frame of mind to do gross when I had just finished a cake for a baby shower that morning. It was the first time I had the opportunity to do a halloween cake so I am impressed with how it turned out. It's even a red velvet cake so when they cut into it it looks like blood. I personally don't know how anyone can eat something that looks so gruesome, but there are lots who can and will.
