This cake was created for a very special celebration. Every year they celebrate the day that Lukai and Ping (separate years but same time) became a part of their family. They were both adopted from China. This cake depicts the pieces of this families puzzle and how they all came together. With God at the head of it all all the pieces fit together perfectly. It was a fun cake to make and a great conversation piece at their dinner as well.
Celebrating the sweeter side of life. Custom cakes, cupcakes & sweet treats for all occasions.

Barbie Purse Birthday Cake
This cake was ordered for Thanksgiving weekend but it wasn't until a month later that Ping finally got her party. Since they were on a last minute family vacation in PEI for most of October I had to hold off doing this cake. I am not a patient person especially when I want to see a design come to life. This is one of those instances. It was worth the wait though as it turned out just as awesome as I had envisioned it! Ping was a very happy girl!
To create the cake I used the book trick. I baked a book shape cake and cut it in half and stacked it vertically. It gives you the purse shape without having to do any carving. I then used peony petals and layered them to give the ruffled look. Topped it off with handles and a bow and to finish off the cake I added a Barbie silhouette.

Giraffe 1st Birthday Cake & Smash Cake
This was an adorable cake that made me very happy to do. I was asked to make the main cake in the shape of a 1 and for it to look like a giraffe. Then they also wanted a smash cake to match. I cut a giraffe out of fondant and surrounded it with little dots and a "Happy Birthday" banner. First birthday cakes are always so much fun to make.

Chanel Make Up Birthday Cake
A friend of mine who also does cake was supposed to do this cake for another friend but ended up getting sick. This is a reproduction of one of her designs with my twist. I made the purse out of a round cake cut in half and then covered in fondant. The make up and perfume are all made of fondant and I used petal dusts to give the powder and shimmer look.

Crocs & Bears Baby Shower Cake
I have been wanting to make some baby crocs for a long time now so when I won a contest for a free photo shoot and decided to have professional pics done I took advantage. I created two wedding cakes but wanted to show another side so I did a baby shower cake as well. I made the crocs green...well because I love green and I wanted to add in some brown so the bears were just naturally the right choice. It is one of my favorite cakes I have done so far.

Purple Calla Lily Wedding Cake
I designed this cake for a photo shoot I had done. I won the shoot with a local photographer Bretny Holmes. We had had family pics done recently so I had some business shots done this time. I actually had no idea where this cake was going the whole time I was doing it. I had the topper and purple calla lilies and then let the rest just come together on it's own. The piping on the bottom tier was inspired by the topper and I wrapped each white layer with a purple ribbon to tie in the purple calla lilies. I was very happy with how it turned out and how well the pics turned out as well.
